dollars怎么讀

dollars的英式讀法是[ˈdɒləz]；美式讀法是[ˈdɑlərz]。 

dollar的基本意思是“元”，指美國、加拿大、新加坡、澳大利亞、新西蘭、津巴布韋等國和我國香港地區流通的一種貨幣單位，多指美元，其符號為$(或$)，還可指“一元紙〔硬〕幣”。用了符號$，就不可再用dollar，且$一般放在數字的前面。美元前有時(shí)加US，港幣前加HK。

dollar的歷史

當時(shí)的波西米亞王國（現捷克）有個(gè)富含銀礦的河谷叫作Joachimsthal（thal在德語(yǔ)里是河谷的意思），國王下令用這里開(kāi)采的白銀來(lái)鑄幣，于是這里出產(chǎn)的銀幣就被叫作Joachimsthaler，后來(lái)不論是否產(chǎn)自這個(gè)銀礦的銀幣，都被大家簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)為T(mén)haler（德語(yǔ)讀作“托勒”）。

這個(gè)詞因此也就成為了銀幣的代名詞，并在各個(gè)國家流傳和變異，比如荷蘭把Thaler寫(xiě)作Daalder，后來(lái)又簡(jiǎn)化為Daler，當這個(gè)詞流傳到北美后，逐漸演變成了英語(yǔ)里的dollar。

16世紀西班牙戰士本著(zhù)淘金的目的來(lái)到位于太平洋火山圈的安第斯山脈，卻在海拔13000英尺的波托西（Potosi）意外發(fā)現了儲備豐富的銀礦，于是駐扎下來(lái)進(jìn)行開(kāi)采，此后大約150年的時(shí)間里，這里生產(chǎn)出了 16000噸的白銀，而西班牙比索（Peso）在此期間也成為了當地乃至世界的流通貨幣。
