LOI有兩種含義：

1.letterofintent,意向書(shū)的意思。好多外國公司在合作前，一般都會(huì )要求對方簽訂一個(gè)合作意向書(shū)，就是有意向購買(mǎi)，不能作為法律依據，就相當于“驗證碼”，只有輸入，才能進(jìn)行下一環(huán)節，表現一種合作的誠意，省的浪費大家時(shí)間。

2.letterofindemnity,意思是賠償保證書(shū)，就相當于一種保函，常用作為卸貨保函。在卸貨過(guò)程中，船長(cháng)只有見(jiàn)到正本提單才會(huì )同意卸貨，但由于郵寄等原因，船可能先于單據到達，為了及時(shí)安排靠泊卸貨，不產(chǎn)生滯期費并影響船期，一般船長(cháng)需要見(jiàn)到卸貨保函（買(mǎi)賣(mài)雙方都可以提供），防止因無(wú)正本提單卸貨而產(chǎn)生責任問(wèn)題。在你的陳述中，應該是指卸貨保函的意思，就是船到后，需要你們安排卸貨保函，以便卸貨的意思。（因為就這一句英文表述，所以不太確定）
