中國的語(yǔ)言真是發(fā)達的不要不要的,近幾年又興起了許多的網(wǎng)絡(luò )用語(yǔ),有的網(wǎng)絡(luò )語(yǔ)言很晦澀但很新潮,有的也挺簡(jiǎn)單,你比如……藍瘦,香菇,英文是_Feel awful,want to cry,還有,你有Freestyle嗎?皮皮蝦我們走英文_Squill aoratoria squilla let"s go,傻白甜英文_Stupid white sweet,等等這些詞語(yǔ)都覺(jué)得特別親切,也帶來(lái)了許多的樂(lè )趣,又很貼切,總之喜歡!
中國的很多網(wǎng)絡(luò )潮語(yǔ),把它們翻譯成英文怎么說(shuō)?
講一下“老司機”的英文翻譯。
老司機,你腦海中的第一印象是old driver嗎?
先看看“老”在中文中的兩個(gè)含義,一是指年齡上的老,再者就是資歷尚老練或者經(jīng)驗上豐富,比如我們常說(shuō)的老驢友、老師傅、老員工等等。
這兒的“老司機”很明顯不是在說(shuō)年齡上的老,而是指資歷老練,經(jīng)驗豐富,所以,翻譯為old driver不合適。
英文中有一個(gè)單詞,幾乎和漢語(yǔ)的“老”所表達的兩個(gè)意思都能對應上,senior, 即可以表示資深的,也可以表示年老的,而且在表達后者時(shí),比old要更加尊重,比如,表達老年人時(shí),尊敬的表達是senior people, 而不是old people.
職場(chǎng)中的話(huà),對于senior這個(gè)詞,港臺傾向于翻譯為“資深的” ,而大陸則傾向于翻譯為“高級的”,比如,
senior VP
資深副總裁(港臺)高級副總裁(大陸)senior manager
資深經(jīng)理(港臺)高級經(jīng)理(大陸)“老司機”,翻譯為senior driver 也是可以的,只不過(guò)senior這個(gè)詞還是有點(diǎn)正式的,在日常表達中沒(méi)有那么活潑。
美國人常用veteran一詞來(lái)替代senior. Veteran原意是指“老兵”,也就是久經(jīng)沙場(chǎng)的人,用在不同場(chǎng)合,表達在該場(chǎng)合有過(guò)豐富經(jīng)驗的人。
比如,
老驢友 veteran traveler老記者 veteran reporter老碼農 veteran developer/ programmer老員工 veteran staff/employee老球員 veteran player老教師 veteran teacher老工程師 veteran engineer中文中的“老司機”含有戲謔的成分,在此譯為veteran driver是很恰當的。
當然了,如果不是指開(kāi)車(chē),而是借用到其他領(lǐng)域的話(huà),那就選擇用別的詞來(lái)替代driver ,比如上面舉出的那些。
