一、地理位置

意大利地處歐洲南部地中海北岸，在北緯36°28′～47°6′，東經(jīng)6°38′～18°31′之間。其領(lǐng)土包括阿爾卑斯山南麓和波河平原地區，亞平寧半島及西西里島、撒丁島和其他的許多島嶼。

亞平寧半島占其全部領(lǐng)土面積的80%。意大利陸界北部以阿爾卑斯山為屏障與法國、瑞士、奧地利和斯洛文尼亞接壤，80%國界線(xiàn)為海界。

東、西、南三面臨地中海的屬海亞德里亞海、愛(ài)奧尼亞海和第勒尼安海，并且與突尼斯、馬耳他和阿爾及利亞隔海相望。海岸線(xiàn)長(cháng)約7200多公里。

二、地形地勢

意大利北部有阿爾卑斯山脈（Alpi），中部有亞平寧山脈。北部有波河平原，土壤肥沃農業(yè)發(fā)達。

意、法邊境的勃朗峰（MonteBianco，MontBlanc）海拔4810米，是歐洲第二高峰；多火山和地震，亞平寧半島西側有著(zhù)名的維蘇威火山，西西里島上的埃特納火山是歐洲最大的活火山。
