斑鰶為鯡形目鯡科斑鯀屬動(dòng)物，是小型淺海魚(yú)類(lèi)，長(cháng)約20厘米。因鰓蓋的后方有一塊大黑綠斑而得名，又稱(chēng)刺兒魚(yú)、古眼魚(yú)。斑鰶體呈長(cháng)卵圓形側扁、頭大，吻短鈍，口略為亞端位、略向下傾斜，無(wú)齒。背鰭位于體中部前方、臀鰭起點(diǎn)于背鰭基底后方，尾鰭深叉。體背呈綠褐色，體側下方和腹部呈銀白色。

背鰭始點(diǎn)距吻端較距尾鰭基為近，最后鰭條延長(cháng)為絲狀，末端伸達尾柄中間。臀鰭條短，其基部長(cháng)于背鰭基。胸鰭向后近于達到或達到背鰭始點(diǎn)的下方。腹鰭始于背鰭始點(diǎn)的后下方。尾鰭深叉形。

頭后背和體背緣青綠色。體側的上方有8～9行縱列的綠色小點(diǎn)。體側下方和腹部為銀色。吻部乳白色。鰓蓋大部金**。鰓蓋的后上方有一大塊綠斑。背鰭和臀鰭呈淡**。胸鰭和尾鰭為**。腹鰭白色。背緣和臀鰭的后緣黑色。

幽門(mén)盲囊特別發(fā)達。胃呈沙囊狀。腸很長(cháng)，約為體長(cháng)的1.7倍。腹膜黑色。椎骨49。

幼魚(yú)

初孵仔魚(yú)全長(cháng)3.0～4.5毫米，仰浮于水面。孵后12～20小時(shí)仔魚(yú)全長(cháng)3.7～6.0毫米，卵黃大部分已被吸收，卵黃囊顯著(zhù)縮小，仔魚(yú)變得細長(cháng)并倒懸于水面下20～30厘米深處，體質(zhì)弱的則沉臥于水底。孵后3天仔魚(yú)全長(cháng)4.1～6.2毫米，口初開(kāi)，眼球出現黑色素，腸道明顯可見(jiàn)。孵后4～5天，仔魚(yú)全長(cháng)5.0～6.6毫米，卵黃囊已消失，眼球晶體黑而發(fā)亮，體透明柔軟細長(cháng)，夜間仍倒懸浮于水之中層白天能作波浪形蛇樣平體向前游動(dòng)，此后進(jìn)入后期仔魚(yú)階段開(kāi)始攝食。

孵后9～14天，全長(cháng)7.6～11.8毫米，背鰭尾鰭出現鰭條，能攝食鹵蟲(chóng)無(wú)節幼體。孵后1個(gè)月左右，全長(cháng)20～25毫米，進(jìn)入稚魚(yú)階段，奇鰭和偶鰭鰭條均穩定不變，棱鱗出現，體側黑色素增多使之成為不透明，體高顯著(zhù)增加使體型由細長(cháng)變?yōu)殚L(cháng)橢圓形而側扁，游動(dòng)姿態(tài)由原來(lái)的蛇樣前游變?yōu)橐话泗~(yú)類(lèi)那樣的常態(tài)游動(dòng)。孵后35天全長(cháng)達35毫米，仔魚(yú)完成了變態(tài)進(jìn)入了幼魚(yú)階段，作為種的分類(lèi)學(xué)上的主要形態(tài)特征依據以及食性，均與成魚(yú)基本相同。[2]

棲息環(huán)境

斑鰶為近海中上層魚(yú)類(lèi)，喜棲息于沿海港灣和河口，水深5～15米處。常結群行動(dòng)，適鹽范圍較廣，既可在海水又可在咸淡水中生活，有時(shí)可進(jìn)入淡水中而不死。

生活習性

洄游

斑鰶屬于暖水性淺海魚(yú)類(lèi)，喜結群游泳，一般不做長(cháng)距離移動(dòng)，平時(shí)棲息在內灣淺水區。性情急躁，離水易死，不能忍受水溫低于6℃。在4月底，向灣外作產(chǎn)卵洄游，黃渤海水域4～6月間為產(chǎn)卵期。8月后由深水向淺水移動(dòng)進(jìn)行索餌洄游。10月以后，水溫下降，游向黃海南部深水區越冬。每年3月離開(kāi)越冬場(chǎng)，向西北方向洄游，5月中上旬到達產(chǎn)卵場(chǎng)，產(chǎn)卵后成魚(yú)在近海攝食，幼魚(yú)在港灣內攝食。南海與黃渤海不同，11月間即作產(chǎn)卵洄游，11月至翌年1月為產(chǎn)卵期。

食性

斑鰶以浮游生物為食，營(yíng)養級級次較低。斑鰶的餌料成分有腹足類(lèi)和瓣鰓類(lèi)的浮游幼蟲(chóng)，橈足類(lèi)中的紡綞蚤、鏢蚤和猛水蚤，蟹類(lèi)幼體，浮游植物中有月形藻、菱形藻、舟形藻、圓篩藻、曲舟藻、雙縫藻和圓環(huán)藻等硅藻類(lèi)，以及有孔蟲(chóng)和沙殼纖毛蟲(chóng)、角藻等。

分布范圍

廣泛分布于印度洋至太平洋。自印度洋北部沿岸，東至太平洋中部玻利尼西亞，北至中國、朝鮮半島和日本列島沿岸均有分布。在中國分布于渤海、黃海、東海和南海。

繁殖方式

雄魚(yú)1齡、雌魚(yú)2齡性成熟，多次分批產(chǎn)卵。產(chǎn)卵群體體長(cháng)155～225毫米，體重50～135克。懷卵量1齡6.2萬(wàn)粒，2齡12.9萬(wàn)粒，3齡14.6萬(wàn)粒，4齡24.6萬(wàn)粒，隨年齡和體長(cháng)增長(cháng)而增加。產(chǎn)卵場(chǎng)分布于有適量淡水流入的內灣或近海，水深7～9米，水溫14～17℃，比重1.020左右，產(chǎn)卵季節北遲南早，黃海北部為4～6月，福建沿岸為2～4月。產(chǎn)卵時(shí)間一般在日落后或凌晨，屆時(shí)親魚(yú)結群而導致海面會(huì )出現一片復瓦狀波紋。卵浮性，球形，無(wú)黏性，透明無(wú)色，卵徑1.09～1.62毫米，具單油球，徑0.13～0.17毫米。卵黃龜裂深。水溫15.5～18.0℃時(shí)受精卵經(jīng)51～57小時(shí)孵化，仔魚(yú)全部出膜。

主要價(jià)值

斑鰶是一種頗受歡迎的小型食用魚(yú)，肉嫩、味鮮而多脂，具廣鹽性，食物鏈級次低，生長(cháng)快，當年達商品魚(yú)規格，在中國南方和北方的港塭養殖中占有一定地位。[2]一般多腌漬后出售，生鮮時(shí)可適合煎炸后食用，或制成魚(yú)粉。

斑鰶魚(yú)肉中水分、粗蛋白、脂肪、總灰分及非蛋白氮的含量分別為78.17%、17.09%（干基計87.27%）、3.83%、0.53%和0.10%，與其它4種體形較大的海水魚(yú)魚(yú)肉相比（干基計），斑鰶魚(yú)肉粗蛋白含量接近鱈魚(yú)和真鯛魚(yú)、高于鰹魚(yú)和鯡魚(yú)，說(shuō)明斑鰶魚(yú)魚(yú)肉蛋白質(zhì)含量十分豐富，是值得重視的蛋白質(zhì)資源；脂肪含量高于鱈魚(yú)、真鯛魚(yú)、鰹魚(yú)和鯡魚(yú)。
