現在最好的粒子加速對撞機是什么，能把粒子加速到多快速度？

其實(shí)這時(shí)候說(shuō)速度意思不大，因為現在不管哪種主流加速器都能把帶電粒子加速器到“接近”光速，也就是光速的99.99...%，9的個(gè)數這時(shí)候已經(jīng)不那么形象了。

更好的方式，使用靜質(zhì)量的倍數來(lái)描寫(xiě)。也就說(shuō)，一個(gè)粒子加速后，根據狹義相對論，其質(zhì)量會(huì )增大，約接近光速，質(zhì)量增加越快，質(zhì)量也越大。

這樣我們來(lái)考察下現在正在運行的加速器的的粒子“速度”：

第一個(gè)：LHC，其設計目標是對撞能量14 TeV，單個(gè)質(zhì)子的能量達到7 TeV=7 000 GeV，一個(gè)質(zhì)子的靜止質(zhì)量相當的能量約為0.94 GeV，也就是 LHC 把質(zhì)子加速導致其質(zhì)量增加了7 000多倍。

第二個(gè)：BEPC，中國的北京正負電子對撞機，它可以把電子或者正電子加速到2.3 GeV = 2 300 MeV，一個(gè)電子的質(zhì)量約相當于0.511 MeV。 也就是說(shuō) BEPC 可以把電子加速導致其質(zhì)量增加到約 4 500倍。

第三個(gè)：中國正在倡議的環(huán)形正負電子對撞機(CEPC)，單個(gè)電子能量將達到 120 GeV = 120 000 MeV，差不多要把電子加速并讓質(zhì)量增加23萬(wàn)倍。

這里的字頭 M，G，T 和我們描寫(xiě)計算機硬盤(pán)和內存大小時(shí)的含義一樣，M= 1 000 000, G = 1 000 000 000, T = 1 000 000 000 000。 eV是能量單位。

現在最好的粒子加速對撞機是什么，能把粒子加速到多快速度？

問(wèn)題中所謂的“最好”應該就是指能量最高。 那就是大型強子對撞機（large hadron collider, 簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)LHC）。 它在CERN。本人將CERN翻譯為“歐洲核研究組織”。順便說(shuō)一下，別人都是翻譯為核子中心，是不對的，這里的C不是代表中心，而是法文的Conseil。

LHC用的是以前的加速器LEP的隧道，周長(cháng)27公里，在175米深的地下，處于日內瓦，橫跨瑞士和法國。2010到2013年的首次運行中，能量達到每個(gè)粒子束3.5到4個(gè)太電子伏特，總共7到8個(gè)太電子伏特，是以前其他加速器的最高能量的4倍。然后，升級改造了兩年，2015年第二次運行，能量達到每個(gè)粒子束6.5個(gè)太電子伏特，總共13個(gè)太電子伏特?！疤贝?0的12次方，1后面12個(gè)0。1個(gè)電子伏特等于1.6乘以10的負19次方，就是小數點(diǎn)后面18個(gè)0，再來(lái)1個(gè)1。

這就是目前加速器加速粒子達到的最高能量。

LHC的目標是檢驗若干粒子物理理論。最重要的成績(jì)是發(fā)現了希格斯粒子，這是基本粒子獲得質(zhì)量的機制中留下的粒子。

LHC上有7個(gè)探測器。LHC中加速的是質(zhì)子，也可以是重離子。名字中的強子是指由夸克組成的復合粒子，比如質(zhì)子和中子（統稱(chēng)重子），還有介子，比如B介子、D介子、K介子。 對撞機是加速器，是將加速的粒子互相碰撞，產(chǎn)生其他粒子，其中不少很快就衰變?yōu)槠渌Ｗ?，所以必須通過(guò)碰撞產(chǎn)生。
