由于《拳皇》系列中設計的人物年齡并不會(huì )隨著(zhù)現實(shí)時(shí)間而增長(cháng)，所以之前設計的不知火舞、麻宮雅典娜、坂崎尤麗以及后期加入的庫拉等等都年齡偏小，最小的庫拉只有15歲，所以SNK才決定設計“溫妮莎”這樣一個(gè)成熟女性角色，年齡定在30歲，并且故事背景中有一個(gè)四歲的孩子，是《拳皇》系列中年齡最大的女格斗家。

溫妮莎和她老公都是“反音巢組織”的特工，原本她結婚生子后已經(jīng)很少接任務(wù)了，但是她老公在一次行動(dòng)中喪生，為了復仇她毅然復出對抗音巢組織，也因此跟羅蒙結識并成為搭檔。

而對于溫妮莎出現的原因，官方的表示是在拳皇大賽1999之后，出場(chǎng)的信任，像包子，李香妃這樣的人物年齡都普遍較小，為了彌補游戲的平衡，遏制住其人物年齡低齡化的現象，所以才設計除了性感成熟的御姐溫妮莎。溫姐的格斗手法一般都是自己創(chuàng )造的流派，在游戲中除了CD的反擊，溫姐的四個(gè)鍵位全部都是揮拳，這和美國隊伍的哈維非常類(lèi)似，不過(guò)溫姐的拳法和身法更為靈活輕便，添加了閃避和瞬移等技能。

溫妮莎和老公原本都是反音巢的特工，而大部分時(shí)間溫妮莎扮演的則是一位妻子的角色。但遺憾的是溫妮莎的老公在一次對付音巢的行動(dòng)中喪生。溫妮莎決心為丈夫報仇，選擇重新開(kāi)始修煉拳法，并代替老公的位置繼續對抗音巢。而游戲中的追求者為同事羅蒙?？偟膩?lái)講，溫妮莎很有味道，填補了人妻角色的空白，吸引了大量玩家。
