爵位是歐洲封建君主國內分封貴族的等級制度.它最早出現于中世紀,在近代的一些國家中仍然繼續沿用.一般以占有土地的多少來(lái)確定分封爵銜之高低,主要可分為公爵、侯爵、伯爵、子爵、男爵這五等。

歐洲的等級制度，使得各封建主之間以主臣關(guān)系依次隸從，構成一座封建等級金字塔。塔的最底層是農奴，大大小小封建主占有土地，形成封建莊園，封建莊園遍布西歐。

中世紀的等級制度？

公、侯、伯、子、男

爵位是歐洲封建君主國內分封貴族的等級制度。它最早出現于中世紀，在近代的一些國家中仍然繼續沿用。一般以占有土地的多少來(lái)確定分封爵銜之高低，主要可分為公爵、侯爵、伯爵、子爵、男爵這五等。

公爵：在貴族中，公爵是第一等級，地位最高。這個(gè)爵名的由來(lái)有三：一是歐洲氏族社會(huì )解體時(shí)期，日耳曼部落的軍事首長(cháng)；二是古代羅馬部落的軍事首長(cháng)；三是古羅馬時(shí)代的邊省將領(lǐng)，后指地方軍政長(cháng)官，其拉丁文原意為"統帥"。隨著(zhù)封建關(guān)系的發(fā)展，王權的日益強化，公爵成了統治階級中的上層人物。在英國，公爵最初是由十四世紀的英王愛(ài)德華三世分封的，被封這公爵的全是王室成員。十五世紀后才打破這慣例，少數非王室人員也被封為公爵。

侯爵：侯爵是貴族的第二等級。查理大帝在位時(shí)它是指具有特別全權的邊區長(cháng)官，相當于藩侯，查理曼帝國分裂后，變成了獨立的大封建領(lǐng)主。封建王權加強后，侯爵成為公爵與伯爵之間的爵銜，其地位與其他伯爵相等，十到十四世紀后，才確認侯爵的地位在伯上之上。
