到底什么是STEAM教育？

STEM模式是目前研究最火熱、認可度較高且使用廣泛的科學(xué)教育綱領(lǐng)。STEM是科學(xué)(Science)、技術(shù)(Technology)、工程(Engineering)和數學(xué)(Mathmatics)英語(yǔ)首字母縮寫(xiě)。美國弗吉尼亞理工大學(xué)的學(xué)者Yakman于2007年在STEM基礎上，首次提出STEAM。其中A(art，藝術(shù))是指美術(shù)、語(yǔ)言、人文、形體藝術(shù)等含義，她認為科學(xué)和技術(shù)的內容，要以數學(xué)知識為基礎，并通過(guò)工程和設計的過(guò)程來(lái)實(shí)現，如此將5個(gè)領(lǐng)域聯(lián)系貫通。還有發(fā)展成為STREAM理念，在STEAM的基礎上增加了Reading，強調閱讀在科學(xué)教育中的重要作用。

2012年以來(lái)，美國提出下一代K12科教標準，簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)NGSS，并于2012-2015連續頒布《K12科學(xué)教育的框架：實(shí)踐、交叉概念與核心觀(guān)點(diǎn)》（2012）[22]、《新一代的科學(xué)教育標準》（2013）[23]、《指導實(shí)施新一代的科教標準》（2015）[24]，以更新K12科學(xué)教育的內容和體系。
