早在2014年的日內瓦車(chē)展上，瑪莎拉蒂便展示了一款名為Alfieri的概念車(chē)，盡管這個(gè)名字已經(jīng)被摒棄，但是Alfieri概念車(chē)為下一代GranTurismo提供了設計方向，而新款GranTurismo的敞篷版也將重新命名為GranCabrio。
