usually 含“多數人都做的”、“習慣性發(fā)生的”、“多數時(shí)間里出現的”等意思;frequently 基本詞義則是“發(fā)生頻率高的”。
這兩個(gè)詞也有表達相同意思的時(shí)候,這就是特指時(shí)間上習慣性、經(jīng)常性的語(yǔ)義表達,即 often 這個(gè)詞的詞義。
詞性都是副詞, frequently其實(shí)和often更接近,適合修飾強調次數多,頻率高的行為;usually如果翻譯成中文,應該是通常的意思,強調的是動(dòng)作的習慣性,和normally更接近。
實(shí)際上英文中的 usually 和 frequently 并不是同義詞,人們通常不會(huì )想到用這兩個(gè)詞互換。
