2004年，此作品被改編為**公映，由Ron Perlman（朗?珀爾曼）飾演Hellboy。續集Hellboy 2: The Golden Army目前預計2008年八月1日公映。有動(dòng)畫(huà)版**，但未在影院公映，在電視臺放映并直接發(fā)行DVD。第一部動(dòng)畫(huà)版**The Sword of Storms（風(fēng)雷劍）于2006年十月28日播出，第二部Blood and Iron于2007年三月10日播出，第三部The Phantom Claw計劃于2008年播出，具體時(shí)間未定。 Hellboy故事最早出現于1993年的San Diego Comic-Con Comics #2 （圣地亞哥漫畫(huà)節會(huì )場(chǎng)漫畫(huà)，由Dark Horse Comics出版）。此漫畫(huà)由Mike Mignola編劇和繪畫(huà)，故事情節是關(guān)于超自然現象的冒險，畫(huà)面風(fēng)格黑暗，具有獨一無(wú)二的個(gè)人風(fēng)格。Mignola尖銳的線(xiàn)條處理，對大面積陰影和純色的運用都使他的作品特點(diǎn)極為明顯。

Mignola的故事風(fēng)格受到H. P. Hellboy和相關(guān)的B.P.R.D.漫畫(huà)中大多數都已經(jīng)出版了TPB版本。后期的漫畫(huà)除了Mignola外還有其他作者，包括Christopher Golden，Guy Davis和Ryan Sook。Christopher Golden還寫(xiě)了幾本關(guān)于Hellboy的**。Hellboy是Dark Horse Comics把他們的主要方向從自創(chuàng )的系列轉移到授權系列后仍在持續出版的少數幾個(gè)系列之一。（狼注：授權系列里的Star Wars星球大戰系列有漢化版的，由Firefan兄領(lǐng)軍的The Clones漢化組出品，推薦?。?Hellboy是在第二次世界大戰最后的幾個(gè)月由Grigori Rasputin（格利高里拉斯普欽）于蘇格蘭海岸邊的一個(gè)小島（Tarmagant Island）召喚到世界上的，納粹本來(lái)希望利用他逆轉戰爭的形勢（稱(chēng)為Ragna Rok計劃）。1944年十二月23日，Hellboy在一個(gè)火球中出現于英格蘭East Bromwich一個(gè)教堂的廢墟。他出現時(shí)并不是一個(gè)魔鬼的樣子，而是一個(gè)像小男孩的生物，紅皮膚，有角和尾巴，石質(zhì)的右手很大。Trevor Bruttenholm教授（教授的姓發(fā)音像Broom，即掃帚）為他起名叫Hellboy。

美國軍方將Hellboy帶到一個(gè)位于新墨西哥州的空軍基地，他在軍中長(cháng)大，隸屬于B.P.R.D.，該機構是美國政府為了處理超自然威脅而設立的。1952年，聯(lián)合國授予Hellboy榮譽(yù)人類(lèi)身份。

成年之后，Hellboy成為B.P.R.D.的首席工作人員，他的同事中有人類(lèi)也有類(lèi)人生物。他最親密的伙伴包括Abe Sapien，一個(gè)類(lèi)人的兩棲生物（常被稱(chēng)為魚(yú)人，但并非魚(yú)類(lèi)）；Liz Sherman，人類(lèi)，能放出火焰。

在漫畫(huà)中Hellboy算是個(gè)名人，聯(lián)合國的榮譽(yù)人類(lèi)，“世界上最偉大的超自然調查員”，他經(jīng)常與普通人類(lèi)接觸，而那些人類(lèi)也多數對他的外表沒(méi)什么過(guò)分的反應。（當然，他主要接觸的都是政府和軍隊的專(zhuān)業(yè)人員，還有研究各種超自然現象的學(xué)者們。）而在**中他基本與外界隔絕，普通公眾只認為他是個(gè)“urban legend”（都市傳奇）。

漫畫(huà)中Hellboy的冒險經(jīng)歷從四十年代延續到現在，牽涉到的角色包括魔法師、納粹、the Thule Society、地心世界勘探者、狼人、吸血鬼、鬼魂，還有其他的怪物，如Ogdru Jahad等。（狼注：the Thule Society，遒力會(huì )，德國秘密社團，原名“日爾曼古典研究會(huì )”（Studiengruppe für germanisches Altertum），由塞波騰道夫（Rudolf von Sebottendorf）創(chuàng )建。塞波騰道夫醉心于蘇非教神秘主義學(xué)說(shuō)，他對古代雅利安人傳說(shuō)的研究是納粹思想中神秘主義成分的來(lái)源。納粹黨早期的一批重要人物都出自遒力會(huì )。Ogdru Jahad是被封印的古老邪神，**版里的那個(gè)最終大BOSS就是它，從這設定和它的長(cháng)相也能看出Mignola對H. P. Lovecraft的敬仰是多么的滔滔江水綿綿不絕……）

有幾個(gè)故事是關(guān)于Hellboy的“毀滅之右手”的，它是開(kāi)啟世界末日的鑰匙。和Daredevil，Batman,Blade和Wolverine這些漫畫(huà)英雄一樣，Hellboy也總是為自己的過(guò)去而困擾。在第二部漫畫(huà)Wake the Devil（喚醒魔鬼）中，他這樣評論他的過(guò)去：“我不想知道。我這五十二年都不知道那些也活得很好，我不知道那些也睡得很香?！?Hellboy的超級力量來(lái)自他的惡魔血統天賦。他的特殊能力在漫畫(huà)中未被精確描述過(guò)，但他明顯比普通人類(lèi)更有力量，身體強度也更大。他曾多次被大型怪物猛烈襲擊過(guò)，但都沒(méi)有喪命，通常只是受點(diǎn)小傷。一次，他曾用胸口承受一挺MG-42機**射出的子彈，直到他毀掉了機**。Hellboy力量的極限并不清楚，但是他曾經(jīng)拔起一棵大樹(shù)，把它扔向敵人。他還經(jīng)常投擲至少四五百磅的重物。

Hellboy的右手，被稱(chēng)為“毀滅之右手”，包括非常大的前臂和手，看起來(lái)是紅色石頭的。這手不怕任何攻擊，且無(wú)痛覺(jué)，在和敵人作戰時(shí)更像是一把大錘子。當然，因為它比普通人類(lèi)的手大太多，日常生活中很不方便。平時(shí)Hellboy主要使用正常大小的左手，但其實(shí)他的右手也十分靈活，足以抓到空中飛舞的昆蟲(chóng)。最重要的是，“毀滅之右手”的力量可以“釋放和控制孽龍邪神Ogdru Jahad”，也就是說(shuō)，它是召喚世界末日（有Ragnar?k / Armageddon / Apocalypse等不同叫法）來(lái)臨的工具。漫畫(huà)中并沒(méi)有說(shuō)明這一過(guò)程到底如何實(shí)現，但是提到了只需要“毀滅之右手”，至于手是否連在Hellboy身上都無(wú)所謂。所以Hellboy還要保護好自己，以免“毀滅之右手”被敵人奪走。

除了天生的能力外，Hellboy還在腰帶上帶著(zhù)很多與宗教或魔法有關(guān)的東西，例如圣骨、馬蹄鐵、草藥等，同時(shí)他還隨身帶著(zhù)各種手榴彈和**，這些在與各種妖魔鬼怪戰斗時(shí)也常派上用場(chǎng)。Hellboy通常都帶著(zhù)一把大手**。在**版中，**名字叫“the Samaritan”（撒瑪利亞人，源出《圣經(jīng)》），Hellboy說(shuō)他用的是特殊的子彈，里面有銀屑、圣水和其他成分，在與超自然生物戰斗時(shí)可以保證攻擊效果，同時(shí)還透露了**管是用融化的教堂鐵鐘鑄成的。

Happiness is a journey

We always convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, than another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.

At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So treasure every moment that you have.
