托卡馬克(Tokamak)是一種利用磁約束來(lái)實(shí)現受控核聚變的環(huán)性容器。它的名字 Tokamak 來(lái)源于環(huán)形(toroidal)、真空室(kamera)、磁(magnit)、線(xiàn)圈(kotushka)。最初是由位于蘇聯(lián)莫斯科的庫爾恰托夫研究所的阿齊莫維齊等人在1950年代發(fā)明的。
托卡馬克的中央是一個(gè)環(huán)形的真空室(有點(diǎn)像輪胎),外面纏繞著(zhù)多組一定形態(tài)的線(xiàn)圈。真空室內充入一定氣體,在燈絲的熱電子或者微波等預電離手段的作用下,產(chǎn)生少量離子,然后通過(guò)感應或者微波、中性束注入等方式,激發(fā)并維持一個(gè)強大的環(huán)形等離子體電流。這個(gè)等離子體電流與外面的線(xiàn)圈電流一起,產(chǎn)生一定的螺旋型磁場(chǎng),將其中的等離子體約束住,并使其與外界盡可能地絕熱。這樣,等離子體才能被感應、中性束、離子回旋共振、電子回旋共振、低雜波等方式加熱到上億度的高溫,以達到核聚變的目的。
