學(xué)過(guò)數學(xué)的人至少知道一些簡(jiǎn)單的希臘字母，比如delta，大寫(xiě)形式是個(gè)“△”，所以delta又是“三角洲”的意思。The Nile Delta就是“尼羅河三角洲”的意思。Deltoid是“三角肌”，deltoiditis是“三角肌炎”。

再比如iota，大寫(xiě)為“Ι”，小寫(xiě)是“ι”，而iota在英語(yǔ)里就是“極少量，一點(diǎn)兒” 的意思。

還有omega，因為是24個(gè)希臘字母最后一個(gè)，所以from alpha to omega 就是“從頭到尾”的意思。

而希臘字母表里第一個(gè)字母alpha和第二個(gè)字母beta的組合，就是字母表alphabet了。
