經(jīng)歷100多年后，J .Thomson第一個(gè)以公式方法來(lái)表達離子的特性，同時(shí)建立了正、負離子的模型，接著(zhù)Eiseer和Geieel兩人證明了離子的存在，即帶有正、負電荷的粒子，其粒徑略大于分子的直徑。1905年Langerin在大氣中發(fā)現了第二種離子稱(chēng)為L(cháng)angerin離子或大直徑帶電粒子，又稱(chēng)為重離子。到1909年A．Pouer發(fā)現了第三種離子即中等直徑的離子，稱(chēng)之為中離子。到20世紀30年代德國Dessauer開(kāi)創(chuàng )了大氣正、負離子生物的研究。他首先使用了電暈離子發(fā)生器，從此形成了關(guān)于負離子生物效應的第一次研究高潮，有數以百計的論文，研究和實(shí)驗報告，證明了負離子對人體有明顯的有益作用，而正離子則相反，特別對人的血壓和新陳代謝有明顯的破壞作用。
