在Daily 5的實(shí)施層面,最被重視的,是被稱(chēng)為“漸進(jìn)放手模式”(the Gradual Release of Responsibility Model)的教學(xué)法。漸進(jìn)法,也被稱(chēng)為“鷹架式教學(xué)”(Scaffolded instruction)。有學(xué)者把這種方法歸納為四個(gè)要點(diǎn):
圖形上看,教學(xué)的責任是逐漸以教師為中心轉變?yōu)橐詫W(xué)生為中心。表面看教師的教學(xué)責任在弱化,但其實(shí)是教師的方法在轉換,無(wú)論用什么方法,教師的作用至始至終都是非常關(guān)鍵的。這種教學(xué)方式,在藝術(shù)領(lǐng)域或是體育運動(dòng)中其實(shí)非常普遍,比如舞蹈,最初是老師示范,學(xué)生們像是觀(guān)眾。接著(zhù),老師手把手帶著(zhù)學(xué)生一同起舞,再接著(zhù),學(xué)生們練習,而老師則在一旁指導,而到最后,學(xué)生獨自表演,老師點(diǎn)評。還有一點(diǎn)值得注意,在實(shí)際的教學(xué)活動(dòng)中,這四個(gè)階段之中,學(xué)生們往往需要在某些階段之間折返多次,才能最終實(shí)現最終的目標。

回到主題,鷹架教學(xué)法的理論基礎是維氏理論中的“最近發(fā)展區”,所謂最近發(fā)展區,是指如果把孩子們的現有獨立處理問(wèn)題的能力作為起點(diǎn),把在老師指導,同學(xué)協(xié)助下可達到的能力作為終點(diǎn),二者之間的差距就是最近發(fā)展區。換言之,教學(xué)的目標就是讓孩子最終把終點(diǎn)變成了新的起點(diǎn),而接下來(lái),下一個(gè)最近發(fā)展區也隨之重新劃定。鷹架式教學(xué)中的搭建和拆除鷹架的過(guò)程,其實(shí)就是根據學(xué)生的最近發(fā)展區來(lái)設定教學(xué)節奏的過(guò)程。這和傳統上以教學(xué)內容為中心,根據知識的難易程度和關(guān)聯(lián)性進(jìn)行教學(xué)設計的做法是完全不同的。
在集中式的課堂教學(xué)中,要照顧數量眾多的孩子的需要,那么鷹架的維度必定是比較粗大的,或者是以平均水平為參考的,但如果這樣做,也就失去了作為鷹架的意義,如同把均碼的衣服套在高矮胖瘦各異的一群人身上,這難以實(shí)現良好的效果。在Daily 5的課堂里就完全沒(méi)有這個(gè)問(wèn)題,教學(xué)不再是一套均碼,也無(wú)需量身定做,而是形成一系列的標準尺碼,這套方法在Daily 5 課堂里被稱(chēng)為:The CAFE( C omprehension, A ccuracy, F luency, and E xpanding vocabulary)。
我注意到在Daily 5 書(shū)中,作者多次強調要把行為變?yōu)榱晳T。在國內,教學(xué)過(guò)程中往往被強調的是知識點(diǎn)。而Daily 5 教學(xué)則是透過(guò)教學(xué),讓學(xué)生學(xué)會(huì )正確的學(xué)習方法,并形成自主學(xué)習的習慣,知識的掌握并非不重要,但其實(shí)也是水到渠成的事,而且這樣的結果,是把教師傳授的知識在孩子心中實(shí)現了內化(“內化"也是維氏理論中的重要觀(guān)點(diǎn))。應付考試?當然沒(méi)問(wèn)題!大家都知道,所謂學(xué)霸式學(xué)習法,萬(wàn)變不離其宗——養成良好的學(xué)習習慣。幾乎人人都會(huì )說(shuō):知識只能伴隨孩子一時(shí),而習慣將能伴隨孩子一生。但知易行難,養成習慣可不像講解知識點(diǎn)那么容易?。。ㄋ詫W(xué)霸還是學(xué)霸,學(xué)渣依舊是學(xué)渣)
