1986年出生于英國倫敦的Robert，母親任職于模特經(jīng)紀公司，父親則從事進(jìn)口美國中古車(chē)（二手車(chē)）的生意。Robert在15歲時(shí)加入了Barnes Theatre Company，并開(kāi)始了業(yè)余性的演藝工作，在Barnes Theatre Club里演出某些角色。

而他第一個(gè)屏幕角色出現在電視劇《Ring of the Nibelungs（尼伯龍根的指環(huán)）》里。隨后也參與了《Vanity Fair（名利場(chǎng)）》里的演出，不過(guò)基于劇情考量，該**最后上映時(shí)，Robert的戲份被刪除了，但在DVD版本中依然看得到他被刪剪的演出。
