紅細胞不斷進(jìn)行新生和破壞,根據同位素的實(shí)驗證明其壽命為100—120天,比要白血球長(cháng)。所以紅十字會(huì )都會(huì )建議成年男子每隔三個(gè)月獻血一次,女子每隔四個(gè)月獻血一次。
由于紅細胞沒(méi)有細胞核以及細胞器,無(wú)法自行制造自己的結構,也無(wú)法使自己的結構維持長(cháng)久。身體內每天紅細胞破壞量約1%,需加以補充。
照這樣計算,人體每天要制造一百億個(gè)細胞。由于胎兒期造血而產(chǎn)生的紅細胞中,血紅素為胎兒血色素HgbF,適合于子宮內低氧狀態(tài)下的氣體交換,至成人期造血期,血色素便轉變?yōu)槌扇诵脱豀gbA。
