本周讀到第11章，Secrets，秘密。竟還是個(gè)復數。

有多少個(gè)秘密？是什么樣的秘密？帶著(zhù)問(wèn)題初讀全章。

雖然本章有8頁(yè)，但大多是對話(huà)，于是大約15分鐘之后，基本上都讀好了，也找到了答案。

Jo有一個(gè)秘密，Laurie也有一個(gè)秘密。把你的秘密告訴我，我就告訴你我的秘密。

兩個(gè)幼稚鬼，但讀起來(lái)忍不住要會(huì )心一笑。

…I’d like to tell you a secret. 

But Laurie wouldn’t tell until she explained what she had been doing in town. 

So Jo said that she had been at the newspaper office and  left two of her stories with the editor. 

前一章castles in the air，空中樓閣，大家剛剛討論過(guò)自己的夢(mèng)想。Jo的夢(mèng)想，即是當一位作家。

說(shuō)干就干，她一直在努力。本章一開(kāi)頭便是寫(xiě)好了兩份稿子偷偷帶去鎮上找報社編輯。 

作為交換，Laurie也告訴了她一個(gè)秘密，卻不是關(guān)于自己的，而是關(guān)于Jo的大姐Meg: 

He said that he knew where to find Meg’s lost glove, whispering that he saw it in Mr. Brooke’s pocket. “Isn’t it romantic?”

之前Meg落了一雙手套在Larie家里，回頭收到的卻只有一只。原來(lái)是被Laurie的家庭教師Mr. Brooke藏起來(lái)了。之前Mrs March在Meg收到Brooke為她翻譯的德語(yǔ)詩(shī)時(shí)就懷疑有段愛(ài)情在醞釀，而這只手套，坐實(shí)了至少有一方是心中有情的。Laurie覺(jué)得何其有趣，分享給Jo這個(gè)秘密后還忍不住加上一句：不覺(jué)得很浪漫嗎？

不，不，一點(diǎn)也不浪漫。Jo一聽(tīng)，幾乎要炸了。這世上她最不愿意看見(jiàn)的事，便是姐妹們長(cháng)大，各自嫁人，一家人從此散落天涯。

"No. It's horrid." She hated the idea of someone taking Meg away from the family. 

The last thing she wanted was for her sister to grow up and get married. 

似乎孩子們長(cháng)大的過(guò)程中必然要經(jīng)歷這樣的一個(gè)階段。很小的時(shí)候，孩子們自然是迫切地期望自己長(cháng)大的。但到半大不大的時(shí)候，開(kāi)始青春期的時(shí)候，似乎又會(huì )害怕起來(lái)。Peter Pan大概也是因為這樣而廣受喜愛(ài)。忽然害怕長(cháng)大。希望自己可以永遠不會(huì )長(cháng)大。希望父母不會(huì )老去，希望家人永遠能呆在一起。

所以倒霉的Mr. Brooke, 從此上了Jo的黑名單，被當成一名入侵者一樣防范，并粗魯地敵對著(zhù)。

這樣想想，撞在**口上表白的Laurie也是倒霉,他沒(méi)有耐心等到Jo開(kāi)始對長(cháng)大這件事情有新的看法，便冒冒然地開(kāi)口，無(wú)怪乎慘遭拒絕。

但是，也不是不喜歡。只是，那不是正確的時(shí)候。

也許也跟作者有關(guān)。據說(shuō)作者一輩子未婚，是不折不扣的不婚主義者。這個(gè)故事里，愛(ài)情所占的份量也便極為有限。至少跟親情相比，幾乎完全不值一提。雖然最后有各自的姻緣，但也許只是作者為了迎合一下大眾的口味罷了。

所以不必太計較。不必太耿耿于懷。至少作者的生命中，似乎并沒(méi)有這樣的一個(gè)缺憾。
