TSI

TSI（渦輪機械增壓燃油分層噴射發(fā)動(dòng)機）的設計非常巧妙，它實(shí)際上是把一個(gè)渦輪增壓器(Turbocharger)和機械增壓器(Supercharger)一起裝到一臺發(fā)動(dòng)機里面。

TSI中的T不是指Turbocharger而是Twincharger（雙增壓）的意思。上文我們講到渦輪增壓發(fā)動(dòng)在較低和較高轉速時(shí)都有一個(gè)動(dòng)力的空擋，為了進(jìn)一步提高發(fā)動(dòng)機的效率，增加一個(gè)機械增壓裝置，并讓它在低轉速時(shí)加大進(jìn)氣壓力。

而渦輪增壓器的尺寸可以再大一些，去彌補高轉速時(shí)的動(dòng)力空擋，從而達到一個(gè)從低到高轉速的全段優(yōu)異動(dòng)力表現。

另外，渦輪增壓器由于廢氣渦輪的慣性，會(huì )有發(fā)動(dòng)機相應的遲滯現象。而機械增壓器則是由發(fā)動(dòng)機轉軸直接帶動(dòng)，能夠隨著(zhù)發(fā)動(dòng)機轉速變化而迅速且線(xiàn)性地改變轉速。2005年，大眾1.4升直噴汽油發(fā)動(dòng)機首先搭載了這套系統，它的最大功率達到了驚人的170馬力。

TFSI

TFSI（渦輪增壓燃油分層噴射發(fā)動(dòng)機），這個(gè)比FSI多出來(lái)的T字代表的則是渦輪增壓（Turbocharger），而發(fā)動(dòng)機本身也的確是在FSI發(fā)動(dòng)機的基礎上增加了一個(gè)渦輪增壓器。

渦輪增壓是利用發(fā)動(dòng)機排出的高溫高壓的廢氣推動(dòng)渦輪高速轉動(dòng)，再帶動(dòng)進(jìn)氣渦輪壓縮進(jìn)氣，提高空氣密度，同時(shí)電腦控制增大噴油量，配合高密度的進(jìn)氣，因此可以在排量不變的條件下提高發(fā)動(dòng)機工作效率。

由于渦輪增壓器是靠排氣推動(dòng)的，因此在發(fā)動(dòng)機轉速低時(shí)渦輪并不工作。但在這個(gè)時(shí)候渦輪還是轉動(dòng)的，只是排氣壓力不夠，達不到增大進(jìn)氣壓力的效果。隨著(zhù)轉速的上升（約1500轉或以上），排氣壓力逐漸加大渦輪就進(jìn)入了正常的工作狀態(tài)，達到增壓的目的和效果。
