國立故宮博物院(英文:National Palace Museum)，又稱(chēng)臺北故宮，中山博物院。座落于臺北基隆河北岸士林區外雙溪，是臺灣規模最大的博物館，也是古代中國藝術(shù)史和漢學(xué)研究重鎮。

臺北故宮博物院建造于1962年，1965年夏落成。占地總面積約16公頃，依山傍水，氣勢宏偉。為中國宮殿式建筑，主體建筑共4層，白墻綠瓦，正院呈梅花形。院前廣場(chǎng)聳立五間六柱沖天式牌坊，氣勢宏偉，整座建筑莊重典雅，富有民族特色。

院內收藏有自南京國立中央博物院籌備處、國立北平故宮博物院和國立北平圖書(shū)館等所藏來(lái)自紫禁城、沈陽(yáng)故宮、避暑山莊、頤和園、靜宜園和國子監等處的皇家舊藏。所藏的商周青銅器，歷代的玉器、陶瓷、古籍文獻、名畫(huà)碑帖等皆為稀世之珍。展館每三個(gè)月更換一次展品。截至2014年底，館藏文物達69.6萬(wàn)余件文物。
